Choc Amor is a world award-winning , Lancashire based manufacturer, retailer & wholesaler of fiendishly good chocolate.

Established in 2012, we are situated at Cedar Farm in Mawdesley, just 15 minutes from junction 27 off the M6. We have a shop which is fully stocked with our complete range of award winning chocolates, many of them with unique and imaginative flavour combinations to really inspire you and get your taste buds tingling. We also offer a wide selection of chocolate products suited to gift purchases, including our own Gift Collections and hampers.

All our chocolate is made by hand in small batches and wherever possible our ingredients are natural & free from preservatives.

We are a small team who are always happy to chat to our customers, so should you wish to see where the magic happens, book onto one of our chocolate making courses, or discuss corporate events or talk & taste evenings, why not come and visit us.

We are open 6 days a week – Tuesday to Sunday ( closed on Mondays excluding Bank Holidays ). Cedar Farm is an inspirational and creative shopping experience where you’ll find a wonderful array of unique shops & many of the products, like ours, are made on site. Nestled in beautiful countryside, with free parking, a children’s playground and farm animals to feed, it’s the perfect place to spend an hour or two.

Our products can also be found at Botany Bay Villages in Chorley which is open 7 days a week, and at an increasing number of wholesale customers from local farm shops to delicatessens. We’re always on the lookout for new wholesalers to work with, so if this is of interest to you, we’d love to hear from you.

We are also regulars at various farmer’s markets, food festivals & fairs throughout the North West. (Did you know that 50% more money goes back into the local economy when it’s spent at a Farmer’s Market than when spent in a typical supermarket ). Keep an eye on our news page & we’ll let you know of upcoming events.

PAUL ( Otherwise known as Wonka )

From a background in corporate finance of more than 20 years, Paul was made redundant and was finding it difficult to find another job in the midst of financial crisis, and after reading an article online, had the ‘mad’ idea of setting up a chocolate company.

Whilst he does not have a particularly sweet tooth himself, he is flavour obsessed & has always been an inventive cook & food enthusiast and so set out to make a range of flavoured chocolates, many of which are now award winning.

Paul’s inspiration for new flavours comes from many sources – from visiting good restaurants & constantly trying new flavours & ingredients, ice cream flavours, playing around with new flavour combinations and from customers. Believe it or not, our first ever award- winning chocolate ( Salt Liquorice ) came from a customer’s request, so please keep the ideas coming. Some work, some don’t, but we are always open to suggestions.

JACQUI ( Also known as Mrs Wonka & Chief Taster )

Having initially worked alongside Paul to create the packaging & look for the Choc Amor brand, whilst still working full time in the textiles industry, Jacqui made the decision to join the business full time in July 2013.

In September 2013, Paul & Jacqui opened The Chocolate Rooms in Tarleton, a chocolate themed café and for the next 3 years Jacqui managed the café & spent most days baking fabulous cakes. The café was a huge success & helped play a part in getting the brand recognised locally, but as many in the catering trade will understand, it became all- consuming and the decision was made to sell this part of the business in September 2016.

Jacqui is now based at Cedar Farm, still baking celebration cakes to order, but also focused on developing new packaging to be launched in June 2017 & to extend our wholesale customer base.

JUDITH ( Umpa Lumpa # 1)

Having joined the team in September 2013, initially to run our Botany Bay shop, Judith moved with Paul to Cedar Farm in March 2016 & is an integral part of the team, looking after retail sales & product packaging as well as assisting with wholesale.

Call in to see us at Cedar Farm & you’ll find at least one of us here to speak to you.

Our courses are run by Paul at Cedar Farm, Mawdesley. You will be given an enthusiastic introduction to our company followed either by a demonstration & the chance to make your own chocolate or a full tasting course, depending on which option you choose.
All courses need to be booked in advance & if you’re stuck for a gift idea, gift vouchers are available to purchase from our shop. Sorry but they are not currently available online.

Choc Amor is an exciting brand which is quickly building a reputation for quality, innovation and unique flavours. Our chocolates can also be found in a selection of deli’s, cafes and gift shops around Lancashire. If you would like to become a stockist of our award winning chocolates, please contact us for further details. (01704 822633)

As a result of our constant self- promotion through local farmers markets & food festivals, several slots on Radio Lancashire, Radio 4 and a number of articles in the local press, we have been approached to work on a number of corporate events:-

The Chocolate Rooms is under new ownership (sold September 2016)

After the normal slow start to 2016 due to the obligatory January diets for the vast majority of our customers, we started looking for new premises to manufacture our award winning chocolates. We were lucky enough to find an available unit just down the road at Cedar Farm Galleries in Mawdesley. Cedar Farm is a Lancashire Tourist Award Winning destination celebrating artisan products all made on site. This year marks its 30th year.

Following a full refurb of the unit, we opened mid April 2016 and both the shop & manufacturing space have been a huge success. Our next big milestone was taking the decision to sell The Chocolate Rooms café business late in September. The Chocolate Rooms is still running as a café but under new ownership. You can still buy our chocolate from Tarleton as we continue to supply them with a good selection of our products.

The focus for us now is to concentrate purely on making more chocolate – hopefully award winning, so if you’re out & about, please come and see us at Cedar Farm.

The postcode for your sat nav is L40 3SY.

Hope to see you soon x
